Komari is a really cute character and her cheerful nature was really nice and brightened the game’s atmosphere up. She is also the first of the new members to join the baseball team. She really likes sweets and often sits on the rooftop at lunch eating them. Komari also volunteers at a care home on weekends. Komari is a cheerful and friendly girl who is in the same class as Riki, she takes a shine to Rin and tries to become friends with her, despite Rin’s protests. Her route did her no justice though! Kamikita Komari Rin is a character whom I didn’t think I would like but she’s really quite cute. She also loves the cats that her brother gives to her even if she doesn’t like to admit it. However, she opens up more as the game progresses. Rin is Riki’s classmate and Kyousuke’s little sister, she appears to be cold to strangers but she’s really just extremely shy. I thought Kengo was a tsundere at first but i don’t think so anymore since he shows his softer side more often than i expected, he’s a character that i liked. However, when he wants to, his dedication to Little Busters is crazy. He’s a member of the Kendo club and often challenges Masato to fights to prove his strength. Kengo is the most serious member of Little Busters and is the most reluctant to go along with Kyousuke’s plans. Masato is really hilarious and I liked him a lot, especially the muscle dance. Masato is pretty straightforward and also gets angered quite easily. He’s pretty much an idiot but he makes up for it with physical strength and he prides himself on having lots of muscles. Masato is Riki’s room-mate and is also in the same class as him. Kyousuke is a pretty awesome character and his random ideas lead to a lot of comedic situations, his desire for Rin to treat him as a big brother is pretty cute actually xD I would say that Kyousuke is the true hero (ine) of Little Busters. He’s also a bit of a lolicon although he denies it. Kyousuke is a pretty easygoing guy who just wants to enjoy highschool and adolescence while he still can. Kyousuke is the leader of the Little Busters group and is also a year older than everyone else, he’s also Rin’s older brother. I liked Riki as a protagonist since he’s generally a likable character and doesn’t whine or go unnecessarily emo. He’s pretty straightforward and is also pretty friendly, although most people find the Little Busters group quite unapproachable. He suffers from narcolepsy and is the weakest member of Little Busters. Riki is the protagonist of Little Busters and lives with his childhood friend Masato in the dorms.

The true ending (called “Refrain”) on the other hand was simply amazing and completely blew the other routes out of the water and was really shocking and moving since it was completely unexpected but when you think about it, there was quite a lot of foreshadowing in the other routes, and the writer also pulled some facts from other routes into it too. Rin’s route was really disappointing too, especially since she’s considered as the main heroine – there was hardly any romance or any decent plot. Kurugaya’s route was the most boring and i didn’t like her anyways. Kud’s and Mio’s routes were a tad confusing (and even just plain odd at times) but i liked both of their characters. I actually enjoyed Komari’s route the best since it was most like other Key games, and Haruka’s route was also pretty heartwarming as well as having its fair share of touching moments. In terms of character routes, there were some hits and misses for me personally. The common route was very well written and pretty funny as well as having some really good character interactions and is definitely one of the highlights of the game. With the amount of scenario writers who worked on the game, there are some consistency issues between the routes, although most were at least decent. Leader Kyousuke decides to make a baseball team since its his last year at school and slowly, Little Busters manages to find more members and create a team. The story takes place when Riki’s in his second year of highschool and Little Busters are still together. Riki ends up joining the group and has lots of fun adventures which makes Riki’s grief over his parents feel less painful. However, one day he meets a group of 4 kids who called Little Busters who believe that they’re allies of justice. When Riki was young, both of his parents died which left him sad and depressed. Refrain is most definitely the best part of the game.
